Hi Guys, It looks like a 51% attack, but it could have been an unintentional fork. It started on December 13th, (friday the thirteenth) at block 44270, then all of a sudden block 44271 is dated December 22, 2013. I calculate that approximately 8 million coins were lost. Everything you have mined before the 13th should be unaffected, and proof of stake will continue, just any coins minted between those days are at risk. I lost quite a few coins myself, so I have been doing some research on checkpoints. There are some people who are against checkpoints, but as a result of this fork, I'm not so sure that we should be ignoring the merits of them anymore. What do you guys think?
