Earn Cryptonex CNX Playing Minecraft
Jun 24, 2015 - The service, dubbed by the company as its “Bitconomy,” allows players to earn Bits, a domination that is worth 1/100,000,000 of a Bitcoin every time they play a game within PlayMC's servers; if you're not familiar with a Minecraft server, usually within each “world” so to speak there are games that can be.Missing. Usb SmartCash SMART Miner 2018 there. So I'm not positive, but this may have already been suggested. I was thinking it would be cool if there was a pvp server, that could earn you real life money.
Each player starts out with no in-game money (I'll call them coins). Players can earn money by PvPing or selling items. For every 1,000 coins a player receives, they could trade in for one real dollar. There could also be ads on the server (The ads would appear in the chat every so often). When a player clicks on an ad, they get like 50 coins.
The ads would also be making money for the server, to help pay the players even more money. How players would earn money PvPing. Players can earn money by PvPing other players in the PvP area. When one player kills another player, a portion of the money goes to the person who killed the other player, depending on how many hitpoints that player dealt. For an example, if player one has 1,000 coins, and player two takes away three hearts, killing player one, then player two would get around 71 coins. Half of the remaining coins would go to the lottery, and the rest of the coins would go back to player one.
How money would get into the game. The server would focus mainly on ads, and donations to pay their players. Free players would have to earn even more coins before getting payed, wouldn't have access to the safe zone, ect. Players could also donate to get in-game items such as swords and armor.
So what are everyones thoughts on this? Could this earn money?
Would anyone actually be willing to give this a try? (I'd be more than happy to help staff (I've had several servers myself)) Would it cost too much money to invest in? Post your thoughts, or questions below. There are two problems I've found with this so far. I don't think google adsence allows people to give rewards for clicking ads, we we'd probably have to get our own advertisers. Second, I'm not sure if enough people would go on the server, and donate, for the server to actually make money.
In my opinion, I don't care if I'm not making money running the server, as long as I'm not loosing money (not counting the money it costs for server hosting). Spend some time on a spread sheet, and you could probably figure out if this would be possible pretty easily. Advertising isn't a great method of monetisation anyway, if you can avoid it then do (IMO). Traditionally in order to make profit you have to create a product, that product has to be something people will buy. Think to yourself 'Would I pay to have people who are payed to click on adverts click on my advert?' - I know I wouldn't. As soon as someone is clicking on hundreds of adverts in a row, they wont be taking in the adverts at all.
No-one will donate to click on adverts, and the PvP would have to be very (and I mean exceptionally) good for people to consider donating towards it when there is so much negative advertisement going on around them. There are ways similar to this which would potentially work a lot better (requiring ONLY donations) and no advertisement - but these would only allow a few people to get a small payment. Good point - And I was thinking for your second part, perhaps a membership type thing? Quote from Good point - And I was thinking for your second part, perhaps a membership type thing? I was thinking more: PvP points - Weekly leader board - Winners each week get a proportion of the net donation profit (or if few donations in-game perks and prestige). Provided the PvP was set up well, I reckon that donations would be fairly consistent - but I suppose a pay to play model would work for this too. Although that would be more affected by the gambling license. If you directly pay to be in with a chance of winning.
I have been running server, both successful and utter failures for 4 years now and find this idea interesting. Some of my thought below. To stay with his original idea he would need to make either the amount of points to a dollar a lot higher or the points you get a lot lower as you would end up with most of the people in the game leaving with a few bucks and not having given anything back. Though if you made it that you got a proportion of the players points that you killed and then the rest were either lost or went into some other venture. This would require a base amount gained for killing a player without any points. I personally would make it a donation and ranking system.
Essentially you can play at any point for free if you want but at the beginning the kills would be so insubstantial that it would take a very long time to earn anything at all in physical money. But then there are two ways to move yourself into a better position, one is to donate to the server which allows you to buy things like points boosters and weapons/armor to make killing easier, many things could be put on offer to buy. The second means is to win in the game, so a ranking system would acrew and you would get your score each match added into various tables. So the winner of a match might get a load of bonus points, the weeks best player might get points, and a booster for a day.
While a month or year leader might get an entirely special rank and points for managing to be there. The biggest problem of all would be to start this as you would need a LOT of players for it to be feasible, but as servers like Hunger Games have proved that is not impossible. Maybe starting with a promise that players who joined soon would get a bonus in the future. Anyway thats just my thoughts. Hope they were interesting. Quote from The only thing with donations is, I'm not sure if people would donate if they're trying to earn money. Pay to play would be the best option imo, but I don't think people would want to pay to earn money.
Doesn't really make sense. Well the players wouldn't be playing to earn money. They'd be playing for the PvP, and then the money would be a reward for the very best/most active players. Your argument applies to the OP too, people wouldn't donate to a server in which they were trying to make money from. And people wouldn't pay to advertise on a server with a bunch of human bots clicking to gain credits. Maybe advertisements would work in a pay to play environment. Where you could watch adverts instead of paying, but you wouldn't be able to have players make money from such a setup.
I think currently the best way to monetise playing games is to record yourself and advetise on your content on twitch.tv or youtube.com. To stay with his original idea he would need to make either the amount of points to a dollar a lot higher or the points you get a lot lower as you would end up with most of the people in the game leaving with a few bucks and not having given anything back. Maybe starting with a promise that players who joined soon would get a bonus in the future. I see where you're coming from. There definitely needs to be some sort of leaderboard and ranks (other incentive other than money) involved because you would never be able to actually pay everyone. I see that an exponential points earning system could work quite well, but that's essentially a more maths intensive version of only paying a few at the top. I don't believe that advertisements would work very well so the server would have to be mostly donations based (which means only a few people can get any money), and donating does not = money (because obviously that wouldn't be profitable and would be completely pointless). Potentially a video ad which is compulsory to watch in order to gain the next tier of points multiplier could work, but the ad revenue would be minuscule and almost negligible to donations. (Unless a LOT of people played) But in order to get enough people to play you would need to concentrate on the PvP idea, rather than the monetisation.
It would need to be very unique. Quote from Anyone think this would be possible to automate this with a bukkit plugin?
I may make a concept server. Nothing public, just a downloadable server. In terms of the levelling up that would be pretty simple.
Just assign events to add levels. Maybe you could use an economy backend and have money be the credits. I would expect that this is far too specific to be done with anything other than CommandHelper. Of course if you created your own plugin it would all be fairly simple. The main problem would lie in linking players to ads and ensuring that they have watched them. Maybe the server sends a player a link like 'www.com/ads/?id=827rjaidnf93nfg' then the website is set up in such a way that the person has to actually pay attention to the advert and the site would need to detect this. Maybe something similar to the way servers have rules quizzes.
Then once that's completed, the website tells the server '827rjaidnf93nfg was completed' and the server continues accordingly. I reckon using codes like that would be the best way. Maybe even you have to enter your username when you watch the ad, but for a server such as this making the player do as little work as possible would be ideal.
It's definitely possible to create but wether or not it will work as a concept. I dunnooooooo. I really like the idea of this actually and I have some possible ideas on how it could work. Lets take this as an example. This is a real cash economy mmorpg game that you can deposit/withdraw money whenever you want.
I like how this works because it is insanely hard to maintain a profit, that people just end up depositing. This makes the program money, but also, people that make a profit can take out their share. Entropia has a 15% transfer fee of whatever you put in, or put out, so you end up making money in the start of it all. If anyone would like to adopt these features, it would make a great server.
