Do You Need Internet To Mine Vertcoin VTC
Thought I drop this info since I wasn’t aware this was a thing with p2pool mining. Gotta commit 24-48hrs to a particular pool to expect payout.
' P2pool is using some method to prevent pool hopping. The payout you get is calculated over the last 12 blocks the pool found (30 hours on network 2, about 10 hours on the first network if you can compete). So for that duration your payout should increase as you contributed only to the new found blocks. Luckily shares are valid for 36 hours, so the probability to loose submitted shares is very low. Another aspect of that method is, that you will receive payouts for a while even after you have stopped mining. Had you gotten the local node up? Payout in p2pool is very bad now as there is a sharp increase in share difficulty in network 1 and 2 as miner from nicehash are using OCM ease of usage to mine vtc in p2pool network 1 and 2 causing massive pump in hash power in the pool resulting in super high share difficulty which is bad for small miner experiment fail.
Support is ending SOLUTION?>new network P2pool vertcoin network 3! I had jump from network 2 to 3 ( which is still in experimental phase ) for payout. I was able to setup a local node on my home computer.
I spent about 2 hours yesterday at the office where our mining rigs are trying to setup a local node. I wasn’t able to get it up and running.
Last night, while I was at home, I thought of a solution. I tried my solution out this morning and was able to setup a local node at my house. I have not set it up for external use yet as there are some port forwarding configurations I have to do. I ran out of time this morning because I had to go to work. I believe you assumption is correct. People are going from Nicehash to OCM.
Nicehash says they will be back up and running soon. That might help but I think people are going to see how profitable VTC is and not move back. Another thing that is coming is the VTC halving that I just posted about. We are about to go from 50 VTC rewards to 25 VTC. This could also push a lot of people off the network.

Mining Vertcoin (VTC). Vertcoin is a digital currency that can be exchanged over the internet. You need to add the Vertcoin Address to which you want to mine.
I believe that we will need to pay more attention to in the next couple of weeks. There could be a switch in the most profitable coin. For now, I would suggest finding a pool with the lowest latency for you and continuing to mine.
What is the best cryptocurrency to mine? Should you be mining Zcash, Bitcoin Gold, Vercoin? I will use our NVIDIA 1080 Ti GPU crypto miner on this video to show you how we do it! Our mining hardware actually includes three of the EVGA GTX 1080 Ti video cards, which gives us a good hashrate and low temperatures when overclocked.
Even though it cannot be used to mine Bitcoin, it is perfect for alcoin mining [and might be appropriate to mine Bitcoin Gold (BTG) soon]. We start off by going to the What to Mine website and specifying our hardware (three 1080 Ti's) and power consumption (in kWh) to determine our hashrates based on different mining algorithms and coins. For a while, we were mining Zcash (ZEC) because it was the most profitable crypto to mine for the Nvidia cards. But on the day of this example, we used the Lyra 2 Revision 2 algorithm (Lyra2REv2) to mine Monacoin (MONA). On the What to Mine tab mining profitability table, we see Monacoin as the top earner ($7.40 assuming a Kilowatt-Hour figure of $0.10, as of October 25th, the day this video was recorded), then Vertcoin (VTC), both coins being on the Lyra2 Revision 2 algorithm. After that, there's Zencash (ZEN) and Zcash, which are both on the Equihash algorithm. The Equihash algorithm also includes Zclassic (ZCL), Hush (HUSH), and Komodo (KMD).
Monacoin is a big player in Japan, which legalized cyptocurrencies in brick-and-mortar stores, and provided access to Bitcoin ATMs, where you can withdraw fiat (paper currency) for your cryptos. What to do with your Mined Altcoins?
This is a great question that will affect your overall mining profitability. Do you like to mine a more fundamentally solid cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Zcash, etc.) on the list and hold on to it (HODL it, as they say in the crypto world) OR do you try to maximize your current profitability by mining whatever is on top of the leaderboard, then convert or exchange it for a crypto that you actually want to hold? Personally, I'm still holding on to all the Zcash that I have mined in the last few months. On this video, I'm going with Monacoin. Can I Mine Bitcoin Gold with a GPU Miner?
On October 23rd, Bitcoin hard fork split occurred, causing the creation of Bitcoin Gold. What's interesting about this is that, even though Bitcoin mining has always been an ASIC-centric affair, Bitcoin Gold is supposed to allow mining via the Equihash algorithm via GPUs, our favorite type of miner. That means that you would be able use our 1080 Ti GPU mining rig to mine Bitcoin Gold, which is really exciting. Stay tuned for that!
