On the PC I would suspect the drivers for the nexus aren't/weren't installed before plugging the mixer in. On windows the light only shows when the device is correctly installed and reconised in the Nexus Settings Utility. When the mixer is plugged in see if you have any unreconised usb devices in device manager, if so uninstall them and unplug the mixer, install the lastest drivers then plug the mixer back in and let windows reconise the nexus. As for the mac working and still no light, i'm not sure on that one. This is the second time I have had the same problem and it happend just now. Last time I had to do a full recovery on my macbook pro in order to get the djm-900 to connect to any computer mac or pc.
It is extremely odd that this happes and is extremely annoying at the same time. The first time I tried it on more than 5 different computers all with the proper drivers installed. I called pioneer thinking it was the USB on the mixer.
They said it would take weeks if I sent it in to get fixed. I need the mixer 3 nights a week so that could not happen. I had to go buy another soundcard so I could DJ. I decided 3 months later - 2 weeks ago to do a fresh reinstall of osx on my mbp. Just out of curiosity I reinstalled the drivers and the mixer was working properly again. Now 2 weeks later today I used the mixer earlier today and shut it down properly.

Now I try and use it again and it does not connect to my Macbook again. I am very unhappy with this product seeing that I have to do another fresh reinstall of osx which takes over 8 hours of my time because I have a lot of software that needs to be reinstalled. I have had the thing for 9 months and have only been able to use a total of less than 1. Your tec support was no help at all and I am getting very disgusted with the product and the service pioneer has provided. @Keith >I'm sorry to hear about the problems and I'd like to try and help you resolve the issue. I'm wondering if there's a conflict with some other software on your machine causing the problems as you note that it worked fine, but then stopped. It could even have been an update that knocked it for a loop.
Did you have the same version of the OS installed each time? Which version is it and what are the specs / model number of your MacBook (and bitdepth)? What other software are you running on the computer?
Did you notice any correlation between software or updates you installed on your machine and the DJM no longer functioning? Which technical support did you speak with? It was your DJ support. They told me to send it in and it would take a min of 2 weeks for servicing which does not work with my schedule. The USB would stop connecting to my mac. I reinstalled osx again today and it started working yet again. So I decided to run some diagnostics and it seems like a grounding issue when I run audio through the usb only.
All other aspects of the mixer work perfectly except the usb. So the usb device needs to be replaced. I also talked to a pioneer certified service center (the closest located over 200 miles away from my location) and they told me it would take a few weeks to get the warranty to cover the mixer or I have to pay out of pocket for quick service. I have not tried to reinstall OSX but I have tried it on another computer and still with no success.
I have to say I am with Keith on this one. I cannot afford to not have a mixer for two or three weeks and to send it in I will have to either buy another one or rent one. Here is the response I got from customer supprt: 'Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. You can send the unit to Pioneer at the address below for repair with a copy of the receipt, description of the issue and your phone number.
PIONEER ELECTRONICS 1925 E DOMINGUEZ ST LONG BEACH CA 90810 Thank You, Luana Customer Service Representative' Considering the amount of money we all drop on these products I would expect far better service in regards to warranty issues. Especially with in the first year. I guess I will just try to figure something out to keep me from losing too much money and just send it in. Having the same problem. Have tried different computers, different cables and nothing.it worked fine one night, the very next night it stopped working.
I have all the latest drivers and firmware installed. I did not install anything new, no new updates from the previous night. I manage and DJ at a large venue and we use traktor. Unfortunately we have had to use serato just to play music.
For a mixer that is $2000 it shouldn't be so hard to keep the USB working. Im really thinking you guys need to update the firmware to windows. Something is making the cdj 2000 and the mixer not connect properly anymore. 'having the same problem.

I plugged my other macbook pro straight in after and nothing ( yes i restarted everything several times ). I have no idea how to get it working again. Super frustrating!!!!!!!!! There no way in hell im reinstalling my OS on my Mac for a fault with the Pioneer.
Anyone have any idea whats going on with these yet? Its nearly 3 years since this fault was first discovered.
I shouldve bought a DB4. I bought the 900NXS for this exact feature - to be able to use the mixer as a USB soundcard and midi controller for ONE knob in my software. Although I have this setup working flawlessly out-of-the-box with my 900nxs at home, my last two gigs in two different cities (first two times trying this USB method on the road), both mixers had different issues with the USB. Although it's a nice feature, my suggestion is just to always use an audio interface and go RCA into the mixer.
It's the only way to absolutely confirm that your rig is going to work on someone else's DJM. Yeah, you lose the midi capabilities, but like I said, you never know if the USB is even going to work, and probably don't have time to troubleshoot on the spot. The Rane SL2 is the most compact, hassle free, legit interface that I have used for this, but any interface will work and it will save you a nightmare of stress. I love the USB feature at home, and use it every day. But as far as gigging, the USB has far too many variable issues to be at the mercy of. I think it's probably best to just not even get used to it as a part of your setup.
As much as this mixer cost, I do not think we the consumer should be inconvenienced with the cost of shipping or the wait time for warranty repairs. You should just give us a brand new product that works. Pioneer's warranty policy sucks. I had an issue with cdj2000nexus and it was a bad Jacb Assy dwx3350 and I had to wait for 4-6 weeks for this defective part to be replaced.
When I spend 2000 it should work not be defective, just replace the unit. It seems Pulse (the agent) is shifting the blame on everyone but pioneer. @Damond >Pioneer's warranty policy is pretty much the same as any other major manufacturer (at least in North America); the customer pays for shipping TO the repair center, the company pays for return shipping to the customer.
The delay was probably on the repair center getting parts shipped to them from Japan after the fault was diagnosed. Yes, it sucks to be without your mission-critical equipment while it's being shipped, diagnosed and repaired, but which is worse - waiting for a product to get fixed or having a product that doesn't work? Many manufacturers aren't in the business of replacing your product simply because something stopped working, regardless of how much you paid for it. If I have a transmission problem that is covered by warranty, the car company doesn't just give me a new car because it's a $40,000 vehicle. They'll repair or replace the transmission. How To Mine A Bitcoin BTC.
I am not blame-shifting, but identifying legitimate sources of the problems as described by the users, and there are LOTS of things that can go wrong within the user's control. But at the same time, electronics can, and will, fail. There is no intention by the manufacturer to design or produce a product that doesn't perform as intended, but if the failure occurs in a tiny component produced in a massive assembly line by a 3rd party supplier (eg. A resistor, capacitor, etc), that tiny failure can cripple the entire unit, and it's hardly the product manufacturer's fault it occurred. Sure, there are also other things within the manufacturer's control that may fail or stop working, perhaps because of a bad design or the product got used in a manner the designers didn't expect, thus causing a component to fail quicker than intended, but that's exactly why there is a warranty.
Starting Nexus Miner at 6:10 AM. Stopped mining at 7:10 AM with 0.0000 balance, 0.000 payout, 77 shares, 401.53 WPS. Diff 8.1 All the while it entirely killed my GPU mining with another coin. It seems like an hour didn't even generate one thousandth of a coin. What should I expect with my WPS? Why couldn't they just use mh/s like everyone else - doesn't require some weird obscure stuff to know how well you're doing. I have googled stuff for over an hour trying to figure out how many coins I would make, and best I can tell, was march 2017, I should make around 80 coins a month, with that speed.
Obviously that isn't the case here. I'm specifically looking for something to mine with processors to hodl. Is nexus just bad for mining? I5 4690 if it matters. Thank you very much for this information, this is one of the best reddit replies i've seen. Seriously good stuff.
I didn't know pool payouts could be so infrequent. I'm currently mining with GPU and getting frequent payouts of once per hour or so. I know the CPU isn't gonna make a ton, but my single 290 is making about 3 bucks a day, and my 1080 is making about 2.25. I have two intel processors i can mine with, and these rigs are already gpu mining all day anyhow. Im not sure if this is the coin for me or not because of the lack of pool features.
I really like cryptopools method, their web feature is amazing, i can just check my address on my phone. I like being able to monitor progress in real time. When i was mining nxs, it was showing zero progress for an entire hour.
